Operate, back up, and recover

A practical runbook for an independently operated instance.

Before a deployment

Confirm the host, application version, environment, and database. Keep a rollback image and a private configuration backup. Preserve persistent database storage when recreating application or worker containers.

Check health and behavior

The health endpoint checks database connectivity. Also verify sign-in, email delivery, public redirects, a published page, worker status, and the instance's domain routing. A passing health check alone does not verify those flows.

Back up the complete instance

Keep database, uploaded content, configuration, and the session secret in a protected backup plan. Rehearse a restore separately. Changing the session secret can invalidate sessions and affect encrypted authenticator data.

Retention and payment status

Monitor the background worker and retention settings. Check payment reconciliation before assuming a pending charge has failed. Keep sandbox and production credentials separated.

Release status

Public source distribution and installation tooling are still being prepared. This runbook describes operating requirements rather than a currently supported public installer.
